Witnessing violence in the home

Age differences

Younger students were less likely to report witnessing adults in their home yelling or swearing at other adults, or adults in their home yelling or swearing at children.

These differences in proportions appear small. However, the differences were significant after adjustment for sex, ethnicity and socio-economic status.

There were no differences between age groups in the proportion of students who witnessed adults in their home hitting other adults or adults in their home hitting children.
