Sex differences

Across both age groups, young females were more likely than young males to want more community places to hang out and more after-school activities. 

An average of 32.4 percent of females and 27.5 percent of males aged 12 to 13 wanted to have access to more after-school activities. This fell to 30.6 percent of females and 24.3 percent of males in the 14 to 17 age group.

An average of 44.8 percent of females and 37.3 percent of males aged 12 to 13 wanted more community places to hang out. This increased slightly to 49.9 percent of females and 32.4 percent of males among those aged 14 to 17.
