Sex differences
The median hourly earnings of young men are higher than those of young women.
In June 2007, among those aged 15 to 24, median hourly earnings were $12.91 for young men, compared with $12.32 for young women.
From 1997 to 2007, median hourly earnings for males aged 15 to 24 increased by 8.4 percent, compared to a 6.9 percent increase for females in the same age group.
